About the Avon High School Program

The high school curriculum offers five courses of study: academic (college preparatory), business education, fine arts, home economics, industrial technology. The Core 40 requirement is also included in the high school curriculum. Within this structure, students may select courses from more than 100 different offerings.
Through Indiana University's Advanced College Project, college credit may be granted in English.  Honors, college prep, regular and basic courses are offered in English. International Studies is a seminar type class offered to students by consent of an instructor.
Calculus and Mathematics AP are Advanced Placement courses which prepare students for the Advanced Placement Exam.  Ninth grade English includes one semester of individualized instruction in reading, study skills and vocabulary.
In addition, gifted and talented courses are offered in: English 9, 10, Geometry, Algebra, Mathematical Analysis, U.S. History and American Foreign Policy.
